Utah first time home buyer grants and loan programs - The Utah Housing Corporation (UHC) offers programs for first time home buyers.
The UHC offers the FirstHome and FirstHome Plus programs which provide below-market, 30 year fixed rate home loans/mortgages to qualifying low and moderate income home buyers. The loans are originated through participating mortgage lenders in Utah (interest rates vary from time to time). These programs have specified income limits and home purchase price limits for the home buyers.
Certain areas of the state of Utah are designated by the federal government as "targeted" areas. To promote home ownership within these areas, eligible home buyers do not have to be first time home buyers and tax returns are not usually required to approve the home loan/mortgage. Targeted areas include the entire counties of Duchesne, Garfield, Iron, Juab, Kane, Piute, San Juan, Sanpete, Utah and Wayne as well as portions of Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, Midvale, Logan and Ogden.
