Oklahoma first time home buyer grants and loan programs - The Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) has programs available for first time home buyers.
The OHFA works with participating mortgage lenders statewide to provide 30 year fixed rate low interest home loans/mortgages through OHFA Advantage (state bond money). The interest rates are usually below market rate. OHFA's most popular type of loan offers downpayment and closing cost assistance. OHFA also offers new construction loans to qualified home buyers and special loan programs for Oklahoma teachers.

SpiritBank is offering a special program for rural first time home buyers called RFHP. Oklahoma is only one of four states participating in this program.
The RFHP will provide more than $1 million in downpayment assistance to help first time home buyers in rural areas of OK. The funds are reserved on a case by case basis for eligible home buyers beginning in March 2007.
