North Dakota first time home buyer grants and loan programs - The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) offers programs for first time home buyers.
The NDHFA offers the HomeSmart program which provides a $100 grant to first time home buyers that complete an approved home buyer education workshop. The grant may be used for closing costs or other housing expenses.
The FirstHome program provides low interest rate home loans/mortgages for eligible first time home buyers in North Dakota. The home loans/mortgages are available via participating lenders. Eligible home buyers must not have owned a home in the past three years.
The NDHFA also offers downpayment and closing cost assistance to qualified buyers. These zero interest, deferred payment loans are available through the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency’s (NDHFA) Downpayment and Closing Cost Assistance Program (DCA) and help lower income first time home buyers meet the out-of-pocket cash requirements. The home buyer may be eligible to receive the greater of 3% of the purchase price of the home or $2,000.
