North Carolina first time home buyer grants and loan programs - The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) offers programs for first time home buyers.
The NCHFA program offers qualified buyers below market interest rate home loans/mortgages as well as downpayment assistance and second mortgage up to $20,000 for job loss protection.
If the buyer does not qualify for the home loan/mortgage, he/she may be eligible for a Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC). This federal tax credit can lower the income tax liability, dollar-for-dollar, leaving the buyer with more money to use toward the home loan/mortgage.
To see if you qualify for these programs, check out the NCHFA website to learn more.
