Nebraska first time home buyer grants and loan programs - The Nebraska Investment Finance Agency (NIFA) offers several programs for first time home buyers.
The NIFA First Home program offers eligible buyers a home loan/mortgage with a 30 year fixed rate term with no prepayment penalty (interest rates vary). Qualified buyers must be first time home buyers unless the buyer is purchasing a home in a NIFA "targeted" area. A first time home buyer is considered a person who has not held an ownership interest in his/her principal residence within the last three years.
The First Home Plus program works just like NIFA’s First Home home loan/mortgage program, except it eliminates some of the costs and fees that are usually paid obtaining a home loan/mortgage.
To see if you qualify for these or other NIFA programs, check out the NIFA website to learn more.
