Maine first time home buyer grants and loan programs - the Maine State Housing Authority offers special programs for first time home buyers.
Eligible home buyers can obtain a home loan/mortgage with interest rates lower than conventional mortgages. The programs have home buyer income limits and also limits on the purchase price of the home you purchase.

The Maine Assist program can offers grants that can help pay your downpayment, closing costs and prepaid escrow expenses. The assistance offered can be as much as 3% of the home loan/mortgage amount (up to $4,000).
