The City of Orlando’s Downpayment Assistance Program is available to eligible very low, low and moderate income first time home buyers for the purchase of a new or existing home. The property must be located within the city limits of Orlando. The assistance varies based on the buyer's gross household income and may be $10,000, $20,000 or $30,000.
In addition, teachers and public safety personnel with moderate incomes may qualify for $20,000 of assistance. The home must be purchased within the city limits of Orlando but the buyers do not have to be first time home buyers. Eligible buyers must occupy the property as a principal residence for at least ten (10) years. The downpayment assistance becomes a "grant" once a certain designated period has been satisfied.
