The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) is a self-supporting public corporation with offices in 16 communities throughout Alaska. They offer grants and loan programs to home buyers and first time home buyers alike.
They offer many home buyer loans, including first time home buyer loan programs in two forms:

The Tax-Exempt Program (TEP) offers lower interest rates to eligible first time home buyers. First time buyers are borrowers who have not owned a primary residence in the last three years.

Taxable First Time Home Buyer offers the Alaska first time home buyer a reduced interest rate to eligible borrowers without the income limits, acquisition cost limits, or recapture provisions of the TEP.

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation also offers grants which are helpful for all types of home buyers.
